Friday night was a lot of fun. We invited Sandra and her two boys along with Yoland and her son for pizza and games. We played a game similar to Balderdash and then I translated while we played Imaginiff... they really liked Imaginiff.
While Scott and Jon were here, we did have a little free time on Friday to visit an old Spanish fortress that dates back to the mid 1700's. The Spanish had used it as a defense against pirates.
Wow what a week! We were running non stop the whole time, but it was so much fun! Jon and Scott did a tremendous job. Thanks guys! Our church people really did a good job too. They demonstrated Honduran cooking, gave testimonies and helped to re-enact scenes. Everybody worked together as a team!
We are so excited about a new project that is in the making. It was an idea I have had in the back of my mind for some time now. Jon Plank and I have talked about it on occasions but I don't think we ever thought it would happen anytime soon. We are planning on making a documentary of our first term on the mission field, along with a few "extras" thrown in that will hopefully make for an interesting dvd. In just a few more days Jon along with my brother Scott will be coming for nearly a week to shoot the video. This is new territory for all of us and I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun figuring it all out. Pray for these guys and for this project that it would be a tool in God's hands to bless others, call young people to Christian service, and encourage more prayer support. We want it to be something that will glorify God. It's going to be hard work but a lot fun! We hope to have "A Church Planter's Journey" ready by early April. Stay tuned for more!
While we were in Nicaragua, the team from the states brought a gift from our good friend Libby Snyder in Hobe Sound. A real nice overhead projector. Thank you so much Libby. We love it. I used it as soon as we got back to show pictures to the church people of our trip. Thanks a million!
six roofs for the very poor who only had plastic tarps over their houses. In the mornings the guys would work on the roofs, first tearing off the plastic and then getting rid of the small sticks that were used for frames. It was such a blessing to the people. However, it came at a cost. One day in particular was a very bloody day. One of the boys was working extremely hard trying to loosen a stick beam from the house when the hammer slipped and hit his knee. Thankfully no bones were broken. A few hours later, Adam (pictured with me next to the wood) slipped on the roof and hit his head on one of the sticks causing a deep gash 
on the top of his head. Matt Thompson came to the rescue with a good supply of bandages and antiseptic. Later Matt himself almost fell through the roof. Many things happened but thankfully nobody was seriously hurt.
We would appreciate your prayers Jan 5-13 while we are with a TLC team in Nicaragua. They are coming to hand out 1,000 backpacks to school children, fix roofs for the poor and hold evangelistic services. It's going to be a very exciting week. Pray for protection, strength and that God would win many souls!
We had a very nice New Years Eve celebration. First was our church service. We had a very good crowd with several first time visitors. God really helped and blessed the service with His presence. After church we went to Sandra's house for a scrumptious meal along with Rita and her children. The food was soooo good. We later went to Rita's house for a spanish version of the game balderdash. It was so much fun. I can't believe we are in 2009!!
