Today was a hot one. I think most of us got a sun burn from walking around passing out campaign announcements. Friday kicks off the open air campaign on the soccer field. I had 2,000 fliers printed to distribute throughout the community. The young people have handed out about 1,800 already and today we covered a lot of new territory. These kids are doing a great job and we appreciate it so much!!

We have had record crowds for VBS. At the Las Uvas church we are running around 25 kids. This is the first VBS we have ever held for them. Yesterday was a record crowd for the Tiloarque church. There were over 90!!!! Our little church was packed to capacity. It was very exciting!!

It was another good day. Thankfully there were no more tragedies and the little boy that fell out of the car is doing very well. We sensed God's help all throughout the day and we give Him thanks for what He has done. Thank you for praying for us.

In the morning we took the group to a privately owned orphanage. Most of the children that they care for have cerebral palsy. The group spent time playing with the kids, making them laugh and showing them love.

It's nice to have my cousin Jula Rich along on the team. She helped to make this little boy's day a special one.

After playing with the kids the group helped to fix up the yard around the orphanage. They learned how to cut grass Honduran style with a machete.

We had a wonderful evening revival service. One of the young girls gave her heart to Christ!!

The kids have done so well singing and giving testimonies in the services. They are a great group of young people!!

Just want to let all the parents know that your children are doing well. Nobody is sick and everyone is working together. Tuesday was our first day of VBS. We had a great turn out. In Tiloarque there were close to 50 and the majority of them were new people who have never been to our church. That is very exciting. At Las Uvas there were around 25 with some who have not been there in months.

Brother Hallenbeck is working on a storage closet. He got a lot of it finished today and it's going to be really nice.

This morning Bro. Maloyed and Justin and I handed out campaign announcements while the young people were practicing for VBS. We made a lot of new contacts.

Some of our church ladies have been cooking lunch for the group. Today was shishkabobs on the grill with refried beans, goat cheese, and fried plantain with chismol (chopped tomatoes,onions and peppers) Everybody seemed to like it. The only questionable item on the menu was the goat cheese but everyone did fine.

We had a very good turn out at Las Uvas. I believe this is the first VBS these kids have ever seen. They loved it!

We ended the day with a little bit of a tragedy. I was taking the children home from VBS and I had several children sitting in the trunk since the car was so full. I had the window down and two of the boys were sitting on the inside of the window on the sill when all of a sudden one of the boys fell out onto the road while I was pulling out onto the highway. At first I thought he landed on his head. We all panicked and ran to his side. We quick picked him up and put him in the back of the car and raced to the hospital. They got him into the emergency room and by this time the boy seemed to be more conscious and responding. The doctors did x-rays and thankfully there were no broken bones, just a small hair line fracture in his neck. He will have to wear a neck brace for the next two or so weeks. I was so thankful nothing serious happened. Please pray for Marlon, he is doing fine but really sore from the fall.

We are happy to report that the Beavertown God's Missionary Church youth group arrived safely. They said they had a good flight and all the bags arrived. Everyone is still a little tired from the long trip and five hour bus ride to Tegucigalpa but at least they are settled in and ready for the week. We had a good worship service this morning. Here the group is singing in Spanish. Several of the teenagers gave testimonies. Our people are so excited to have them here.

Some of the kids got to do a little hiking today while we went visiting in Las Uvas. The girls had fun crossing the creek and getting their skirts snagged on barbed wire fences.

Today I got a phone call from the school telling me that Joseph had fallen and I was to come right away. When I arrived, an ambulance was parked outside. I feared the worst. The teacher led me inside and there lying on a mat was Joseph and a pair of paramedics was dabbing his head wound. He was running during recess, tripped and fell into a wall. The wound wasn't really big but it was pretty deep. I felt so bad for him when they gave him a shot and a stitch. When it was all over and I was taking him home, all his friends were saying good-bye and giving him hugs and one of the teachers cried out "you're my hero". He is a hero!!!

Joseph was so excited to get a box from his grammy the other day. He got some new Thomas trains and goodies. It was like Christmas!

Joseph was also invited to a birthday party for a pair of twins. He loves birthday parties!! Needless to say that was a very special day for him, he got his box from grammy and went to a birthday party all in the same day!!

A few days ago we took our Las Uvas church to a park for a church picnic. They were so excited, they don't get to get away very often. It was nice to spend time with them.

The kids enjoyed going to a little zoo. Here they were looking at all the snakes.

A good size boa constrictor native to Honduras. I have only seen one of these in the wild.
